I debated for a while whether or not I would decorate our home for Halloween. Since my pursuit of becoming minimalist I have been focused on removing all that is not essential from my home, but I do find a lot of joy in decorating for holidays so I thought I would do so in a minimal and affordable way.

I took inspiration from Made Everyday for my minimalist Halloween decor. I cut bat shapes out of sheets of black construction paper ($5) then taped them on the wall. I already had the candles (I always opt for un-scented candles). Then I bought the pumpkins ($20 total) and eucalyptus arrangement ($5) from my local grocery store.

I had some leftover bats and pumpkins so I decided to carry them over to our mantle.

We spent about $30 total for all of our Halloween decor this year. Bonus “trick”: the pumpkins and eucalyptus are compostable and the paper can be recycled. What a treat – Happy Halloween!
